I’ve had great pleasure in photographing some really interesting and beautiful celebrations. This particular one was on a cold and snow blanketed December evening in Covent Garden. I felt like I had genuinely stepped into one of those iconic Christmas movies. London sparkled and the snowfall took my breath away. The evening was hosted by Askonas Holt who are known as one of the world’s leading art management companies specialising in classical music. The reason for the celebration was in honour of a friendship that blossomed in 1972 when Martin Campbell-White met Simon Rattle. Simon was a student at the royal academy of music at the time. The duo have shared an alliance ever since and this creative spark has had a tremendous impact in shaping the world of classical music into what it is today. Here in London we celebrated 50 years for these two gentlemen with Askonas Holt. As I venture out into the snow having said my goodbyes the Christmas lights of London shone brightly and the lamp posts and pavements turned white with snow.
